ASR was well represented at UMACRAO (the Upper Midwest Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers) this October. Kess Knight and Mandee Nguyen presented to a packed house on the role of differing social media platforms in the registrar and admissions offices. They showed how various tools like Twitter, Pinterest, Reddit, and Facebook can be used strategically to build brand loyalty and engage audiences well beyond the traditional marketing and recruitment purposes. Amber Cellotti talked about the change management in the graduate education transformation process and shared some best practices for those who may undergo this process in the future. Ingrid Nuttall led a group of participants through the Individual Development Process where each attendee mapped out long and short-term goals and what it will take to achieve them. Tina Falkner (with Clare Dingley from the Morris campus) talked about the upgrade strategy and ways to minimize data entry mistakes and methods to help find them, and Tina also lead FERPA Jeopardy for a crowd of over 50 participants.
