Requesting a Leave of Absence process

As of December 1, the University transitioned to a new process for requesting a leave of absence, which includes parental, medical, personal, and military leave and leaves covered by the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). As a part of the PEAK initiative, the leave of absence process is now managed by the Office of Human Resources instead of local units.

To request and track your leave of absence, go to MyU to submit your leave information. You can also email the Leave Administration team at leaveadmin@umn.edu, and a leave specialist will follow up with you to submit your request.
