MyU and PeopleSoft applications unavailable Oct. 19-20

October 19 - 20, 2024 (Saturday and Sunday), MyU and other PeopleSoft applications will be unavailable while the University upgrades PeopleSoft. The upgrade is planned to begin at noon Saturday and end at noon Sunday. This upgrade keeps our PeopleSoft systems current and secure and ensures we retain Oracle support.

The timing of the upgrade was set cooperatively to minimize disruption to the University. Please make note of this outage and plan accordingly.

Impact
  • MyU and PeopleSoft applications, and some applications dependent on PeopleSoft, will be unavailable while the upgrade is in progress.
  • Aside from downtime during the weekend, no significant impact is expected.
  • Some who use PeopleSoft will notice some minor changes to the interface.
  • Those who use PeopleSoft will need to clear the cache on their web browser following this upgrade.
  • Business partners need to coordinate with integration partners for testing. If a system you manage integrates with PeopleSoft, someone from the business process area will reach out to you to coordinate testing.
During the upgrade weekend, updates will be available on the University’s System Status page.

Upgrade Update

Upgraded systems launched on April 20 as scheduled. A huge thank you to all staff that made this transition successful and smooth.

The ASR training team and business analysts are receiving many inquiries and working through them with users from across system campuses. Common question topics include the new class search, class rosters, and what tabs should appear in MyU.

What is an implementation partner?

From June 4-6, three consulting firms presented their proposals for serving as the implementation partner for the University's upcoming PeopleSoft upgrade. An "implementation partner" serves as a partner (hence the name) throughout the process of a significant software installation (i.e., PeopleSoft 9.0). The partner works with the University and its various entities (e.g., HR, Campus Solutions, Finance) to ensure a successful implementation of the new software. The three firms under consideration shared their experience with campuses of comparable size in implementing the change from PeopleSoft 8.9 to 9.0. For example, each company spoke to how they assisted with the HR/Student Records database split and installing the PeopleSoft Portal. Several ASR staff were invited to the presentations and were asked for their impressions of each company and their ability to serve in this capacity. A decision on the implementation partner will be made in the near future.
