ASR Staff Engagement March 19 Survey

This week’s ASR Engagement Survey asks about how we stay organized. Thank you for continuing to share your stories and experiences.

According to the last survey, most are planning to do some ‘spring cleaning’ this year (76.7%). When asked if you would rather go to a picnic or a barbeque, the majority would rather attend a barbeque (70%).

Finally, we asked about your favorite ways to spend a warm, sunny spring day. Lots of folks mentioned going for a hike or a walk. Gardening, outdoor activities with friends, and hanging out on the deck were also mentioned frequently. Thanks all for your continued participation! It is very much appreciated.

ASR Staff Engagement March 5 Survey

This week’s ASR Engagement Survey is spring themed. Thank you for continuing to share your stories and experiences.

Last week’s survey asked about your preferences and experiences with pets. Most consider themselves to be a “dog person” (50%) rather than a “cat person,” while 28.1% report that they are both. Just over half of respondents (62.5%) say that they or their family have owned a goldfish before.

Finally, we asked if money, space, or time weren’t an issue, which type of dog or other animal you would love to have as a pet. Several dog breeds were mentioned, such as Great Pyrenees, Greyhound, and German Shepherd. Many other animals were also mentioned: red pandas, Komodo dragons, ocelots, tigers, and otters—just to name a few. Thanks all for your continued participation! It is very much appreciated.

  • We had a rescue pitbull named Hippo, and I miss her so much! We're not in a position to get another dog right now, but I hope to have another pitbull again some day.
  • I would love to have a wildlife refuge... and a big cat sanctuary!

ASR Staff Engagement April 17 Survey

This week’s ASR Engagement Survey asks about your meeting preferences. Thank you for continuing to share your stories and experiences.

According to the last survey, most respondents stop wearing their winter coat when the temperature reaches the 50s (53.6%). When asked about your favorite flowers or plants, tulips, orchids, and hydrangeas were mentioned the most.

Finally, we asked about one country you wish you could visit during the spring. Japan, particularly for cherry blossom season, was mentioned the most, followed by the Netherlands and Italy. Thanks all for your continued participation! It is very much appreciated.

ASR Staff Engagement April 3 Survey

This week’s ASR Engagement Survey concludes our spring survey theme. Thank you for continuing to share your stories and experiences.

According to the last survey, most are planning to do some sort of “spring cleaning” this year (76.7%). When asked about your favorite spring time activities, many responses mentioned taking long walks or hikes, gardening, and going camping.

Finally, we asked about your favorite potato chip flavor. Salt and vinegar received the most votes (36.7%), followed by bbq (16.7%). Sour Cream and onion and plain chips tied at 13.3%. Thanks all for your continued participation! It is very much appreciated.

ASR Staff Engagement March 20 Survey

This week’s ASR Engagement Survey continues our spring season theme. Thank you for continuing to share your stories and experiences.

According to the last survey, half of respondents are planning to travel during the spring (50%). Similarly, just over half of respondents prefer sunny spring days (52.9%) over rainy spring days (17.6%).

Finally, we asked for the first signs of spring in your area. Several folks mentioned muddy footprints from their kids or pets. Robins appearing and trees budding were also frequent responses. Thanks all for your continued participation! It is very much appreciated.

ASR Staff Engagement March 6 Survey

This week’s ASR Engagement Survey examines the spring season. Thank you for continuing to share your stories and experiences.

According to the last survey, most say they are either satisfied with their current workspace(s) (41.9%) or very satisfied (32.3%). When asked about adding one element to your workspace, many responses mentioned updating lighting or a better chair or desk.

Finally, we asked about your “go-to” lunch meals. Most folks mentioned sandwiches (with a few specific shout-outs to Potbelly), followed by salads, and leftovers from the night before. Thanks all for your continued participation! It is very much appreciated.

ASR Staff Engagement January 9 Survey

Happy New Year! This week’s ASR Engagement Survey asks how folks are doing as we go into the spring semester. Thank you for continuing to share your stories and experiences.

According to the last survey, chocolate chip was voted your favorite type of cookie (38.2%), followed by snickerdoodles (14.7%), and oatmeal (11.8%). Most say that they did not make New Year’s resolutions this year (55.9%).

Finally, we asked what you would bring to a potluck. There were lots of great dishes mentioned! A variety of dips and bruschetta were mentioned the most. Thanks all for your continued participation! It is very much appreciated.

ASR Staff Engagement March 21 Survey

This week’s ASR Staff Engagement Survey examines how we structure our workdays. Thank you for continuing to share your stories and experiences.

According to the last survey, about half of respondents are planning to travel during the spring season (51.6%). Similarly, 50% say that they currently garden or have an interest in gardening. When asked about what you’re looking forward to in spring, many mentioned the warmer weather, opening the windows, gardening, and just being outside.

Finally we asked about your go-to dessert. The vast majority of responses mentioned ice cream, followed by cheesecake and chocolate. Thanks all for your continued participation! It is very much appreciated. The results from the last survey are available below.

ASR Staff Engagement March 7 Survey

With spring just a few weeks away, this week’s ASR Staff Engagement Survey is spring themed! Thank you for continuing to share your stories and experiences.

According to the last survey, most say that they generally feel confident at work (95%). When asked how often you encounter a situation where you don’t feel confident in how to move forward, most said monthly (40%), followed by very rarely (30%), and then yearly and weekly (15% each). We received many great responses when we asked what success means to you. Many mentioned that success means feeling happy with their work at the end of the day and being part of an effective team.

Finally, we asked for your recommendations on movies, shows, books, and games that you’ve experienced this year. Many responses included games such as Wingspan, Camel Up, and Disney Lorcana. Spring 2021 grade basis changes

Grade basis changes for Twin Cities undergraduate spring 2021 courses can now be requested through the newly launched Jadu form, which will automatically update the grade in PeopleSoft. Students have until 11:59 p.m. CST on May 24 to submit the online request form. This process will save Academic Support Resources hundreds of hours of manual processing time. Special thanks goes out to all who were involved in this process, as it truly was a cross-functional effort within ASR to make this possible.

Grade basis changes for spring 2021

For spring 2021, One Stop Student Services will provide a form for undergraduate students to request changes to their grade basis once final grades are submitted. From now until April 30, students can change their grade basis in MyU. After that, the form will become available on the One Stop Student Services website and close on May 24, 2021.
