Open Enrollment for benefits

As a reminder, Open Enrollment for 2025 benefits ends on December 2. You can find the available benefits, enrollment instructions, and changes for 2025 on the Open Enrollment website. When making your selections, remember to click “Submit” and then “Done” in the pop-up window to finalize your enrollment. Once submitted, you can check your choices by going to the My Benefits section of MyU and clicking “Confirmation Statement.” You can make changes until December 2.

Open Enrollment for Benefits

Open enrollment for 2025 benefits begins tomorrow, November 1 and ends on December 2. There are resources available to help prepare you for making benefits selections that best meet your need:  

• The Open Enrollment webpage is where you can learn about changes for 2025, get a refresher on what benefits are available and where to research those options, determine whether or not you need to enroll this year, and read enrollment instructions.

• You can attend an Open Enrollment Webinar at noon on November 1 to learn more about how Open Enrollment works and what your benefit options are at the University. You can register using this link or find a link to the recording on the Open Enrollment webpage. 

When making your selections, make sure that you click “Submit” and then “Done” in the pop-up window to finalize your enrollment (otherwise they won’t be officially entered). Once submitted, you can check your choices by going back into the My Benefits section of MyU and clicking “Confirmation Statement.” You can make changes until the last day (December 2).

ASR Staff Engagement October 5 Survey

As we embark into October, this week’s ASR Staff Engagement Survey is fall themed. Thank you for continuing to share your stories and experiences.

Last survey, we asked about your plans and understanding regarding employee benefits. Most are not planning to explore different benefit options during open enrollment this year (60%). When asked about your understanding of the Minnesota State Retirement System (MSRS), most say they do not have a strong understanding of how it works (76.7%). In addition, most are planning to participate in the Wellbeing program this year (83.3%).

Finally, we asked about your favorite state to visit outside of Minnesota. New York was mentioned the most, followed closely by other states such as Arizona, Colorado, Virginia, and Washington. Thanks all for your continued participation! It is very much appreciated. The results from the last survey are available below.

Flexible Spending Account expenditures

The final date to submit claims for Plan Year 2011 is March 31, 2012. For a 2011 Flexible Spending Account, you may file claims for expenses incurred beginning January 1, 2011, or your effective date if you enrolled mid-year, and ending March 15, 2012. This means you cannot incur expenses after March 15 and be reimbursed.
