Congrats, graduates!

Spring 2013 diplomas were recently awarded by OTR. Approximately 6,500 were mailed to graduates. Nice job!

Williamson Hall update

One Stop Student Services has moved out of its Williamson Hall location. All visitors to 160 Williamson will be able to enter through the front doors during business hours or check-in with a staff member at the front desk to reach their party. GSSP will also continue to serve graduate and professional students at this location. Click here to see the new floor plan.

Professional skills courses

Looking to enhance a few professional skills? Check out a variety of courses offered on campus that cover topics ranging from communicating across cultures and conflict fluency to engaging in change and discovering your strengths at work.

Branded Google templates

U of M branded Google doc templates have been released by University Relations and are now available for the Twin Cities campus. (Templates for system campuses are underway.) These templates should be used when creating official University-branded docs, spreadsheets, presentations, and Blogger websites. For guidelines and instructions, see Google Apps Templates.

iPad training

Got an iPad but not quite sure of all the ins and outs? Technology Training and Usability Services offers iPad Learning Bytes. They're short, 30-minute sessions that show you how to use an iPad more effectively for taking notes, drawing sketches, making presentations, and more. Click here for more information.

Then or than?

When do you use "then" rather than (no pun intended) "than"? Here's the trick: Then is used with "if then" combinations. For example, "If you drive too fast, then you may get a ticket." Than is used in "rather than" combinations, such as, "Rather than waiting to the last minute, I'll go today."
