Spring development event—dietary requests

The Development Team is finalizing catering plans for the ASR Spring Event on May 16th, 2018. If you have dietary restrictions, allergies, or other needs, please submit a dietary request. While we may not be able to accommodate every need, we will share this information with the caterer. If you haven’t already, please respond by Friday, April 13.

Mandatory in-service on Thursday, April 26

On April 26, the ASR in-service will focus on several new (and not so new) compliance requirements for ASR. All ASR staff are required to attend this in-person training. In order to accommodate our public-facing offices, the in-service will be offered twice within the hour. The first session will be from 8:00-8:25 a.m. and the second will run from 8:35-9:00 a.m.in 101 Fraser Hall. If this is an issue, speak with your supervisor.

Campus Solutions 9.2 Upgrade progress

Admissions has completed their evaluation of the PeopleSoft application tracker that was delivered. They are finalizing their report to submit to the project executive committee, at which time this initiative will close.

The GPAS exceptions processing team held it’s kick-off for usability testing, which will be held in early May.

Several initiatives are working toward a partial or full implementation in April, so many teams are very busy with testing right now!

AACRAO call for proposals

The call for session proposals for AACRAO 2019 is currently open and the deadline to submit sessions is May 18, 2018. If you have interested in presenting at or attending AACRAO, talk with your supervisor. Then submit a PDR (found on the ASR Intranet).

Severe Weather Awareness Week

April 9 was the first day of Severe Weather Awareness Week, and the theme is “Alerts and Warnings.” A watch means "be prepared, severe weather is possible," and a warning means "take action, severe weather is expected."

ASR Central Google calendar

In ASR we have an “ASR Central” Google calendar that is used to track department-wide events, conferences, system campus visits, group training, etc. This calendar is shared publicly with University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.

To add this calendar to your list, go to “add a coworker’s calendar” and search “asrcentral@umn.edu”. To add events to this calendar, simply add asrcentral@umn.edu to your event. The commonly attended conferences and meetings will be auto-added. The collaborative nature of this calendar helps to schedule meetings by knowing when staff are likely to be unavailable due to conferences or other events.
