ClickUp tips

When you navigate to ClickUp in a browser, it opens the first Folder in the first Space in your left-hand navigation, even if the Space is hidden. If it is opening up a Space that isn’t relevant to you, you can adjust the default order of Spaces.

• Click the three dots symbol to the left of the “Spaces” header (above “Everything”).
• Toggle “Show all Spaces” on.
• Drag the Space you want to the top of your list.
• Untoggle “Show all Spaces” so it’s off, again.

Your left-hand navigation is unique to your view, but the order of Folders within a Space is shared across all users. Any changes to Folder structure within a Space will impact everyone. If you want ClickUp to open to a specific Folder by default, consider bookmarking that Folder in your browser.

ASR Staff Engagement April 3 Survey

This week’s ASR Engagement Survey concludes our spring survey theme. Thank you for continuing to share your stories and experiences.

According to the last survey, most are planning to do some sort of “spring cleaning” this year (76.7%). When asked about your favorite spring time activities, many responses mentioned taking long walks or hikes, gardening, and going camping.

Finally, we asked about your favorite potato chip flavor. Salt and vinegar received the most votes (36.7%), followed by bbq (16.7%). Sour Cream and onion and plain chips tied at 13.3%. Thanks all for your continued participation! It is very much appreciated.

FA-IT update

After x amount of years in ASR, Richard Toetschinger announced his retirement, and his last day in ASR-IT will be on April 4, 2025. Richard has been a valuable member of ASR, and we wish him nothing but the best in all of his future endeavors. Andy Hill will be taking the role as interim manager for the Financial Aid-IT team in ASR-IT. Further updates will be shared as soon as they are available.

Recognizing Ramadan & Eid al-Fitr

Taking place during the ninth month of the Muslim Calendar, Ramadan is a sacred time for Muslims all over the world. During Ramadan, many Muslims observe the act of fasting between dawn and sunset. The fast is broken at the end of each day with a meal called iftar. This year, Ramadan began during the end of February and will finish towards the end of March, contingent on the sighting of the moon.

With the end of Ramadan approaching, it is important to recognize Eid al-Fitr (Eid). Eid is the "festival of breaking the fast," which takes place when the new moon is seen. Eid can last up to three days and is one of the two main festivals in Islam. During Eid, friends and family join together to enjoy food, exchange gifts, and participate in charity.

Here’s how to support those participating in Ramadan & Eid al-Fitr:

• Remember that each individual experiences the challenges of Ramadan differently and that asking someone if they are fasting can be uncomfortable.
• Remember that all religious occasions should be approached with compassion and respect.
• Be flexible with coworkers requesting time off for Ramadan and Eid as it may fall on a different day than expected because its start will depend on the new moon.
• To wish someone a good Ramadan, you can say "Ramadan Mubarak" or "Ramadan Kareem,” and to wish someone a good Eid, you can say "Eid Mubarak.”

ASR Staff Engagement March 20 Survey

This week’s ASR Engagement Survey continues our spring season theme. Thank you for continuing to share your stories and experiences.

According to the last survey, half of respondents are planning to travel during the spring (50%). Similarly, just over half of respondents prefer sunny spring days (52.9%) over rainy spring days (17.6%).

Finally, we asked for the first signs of spring in your area. Several folks mentioned muddy footprints from their kids or pets. Robins appearing and trees budding were also frequent responses. Thanks all for your continued participation! It is very much appreciated.

Update from Stacey

It’s that in between time of year where one day I run outdoors, and the next day we have 7+ inches of snow. Uncertainty seems to be a theme right now, whether it is the weather or how the department of education might change under its new leadership. At the March 27 all staff assembly, I and the DEI committee plan to talk about how the University is responding to some of these changes, such as the Dear Colleague Letter that was released a few weeks ago. I hope you are able to join us for the assembly.

Meanwhile, I have been in performance appraisal mode reading about your many accomplishments this year. I really appreciate your efforts. Thank you!
