Goal setting, is it easier said than done?

It doesn’t have to be. There are a lot of benefits to setting smart, achievable goals: career development, skill advancement, and personal productivity among them. But, where can you start? Below are a few tips for setting your goals from Mindtools.com:

  • State each goal as a positive statement, avoid negativity
  • Be precise by including dates, times, deadlines
  • Set priorities
  • Write your goals down
  • Keep operational goals small and achievable
  • Set performance goals, not outcome goals
  • Be realistic

Leading Change: Navigating the Human & Cultural Dynamics

The Project & Change Management Collaborators are hosting this event on March 11, 2015 from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m.. While good project management is absolutely necessary, it is not sufficient to ensure successful implementation AND adoption of the change. In this workshop PCMC will explore the normal, natural human dynamics of change and discuss the leadership mindset, tool set and skill set needed to overcome resistance, generate commitment versus compliance, and optimize project momentum. Visit the PCMC website for additional information and opportunities.

Please note: ASR Student Records Training & Support will also be providing additional production support on Saturday, March 28 and Saturday, April 4.

Avoid pay and vacation interruptions by preparing for shift to electronic submissions

Faculty, staff and students who currently submit paper timesheets or absence forms will have to do so electronically after The Upgrade. Paper timesheets and absence forms are being eliminated to bring the University up-to-date with other large organizations and peers. We encourage ASR staff to visit the Upgrade Blog and make sure they are prepared for this change.

ASR stairs officially complete

Many of you have, by now, enjoyed the convenience of the new stairs outside ASR’s offices in Williamson Hall. The construction project started in 2009 and reached its completion last week Friday with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony. ASR would like to thank all employees for their patience throughout this process and the construction team for their great work in getting it done.
