The Project & Change Management Collaborators (PCMC) are excited to kick off the 2015/2016 Academic Year with a session on Project Initiation next Wednesday, September 30 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m in Walter Library room 101. If you are interested in project work, work on projects daily, or lead a project from time to time this is a good opportunity to connect with others who have similar interests or do similar work while learning a bit more about this important step.
The Project Initiation Phase is the 1st phase in the Project Management Life Cycle. Here you start a project by defining its objectives, scope, purpose and deliverables. You'll also secure project resources and gain approval to move on to the next phase. During this session you'll hear from a Senior Project Manager in OIT, Lisa Zinnel. She will also share details about the University strategy for IT Capital Planning and the work they are doing to create a solid methodology, best practices and resources within OIT. The PCMC group will also share details about a resource library that we are working to build that will provide templates for managing various stages of a project and process delivery.
Date and Time: Wednesday, September 30th @ 1:00 to 2:00PM
Location: Walter 101
