Duo to be required for University sign-in

Duo two-factor authentication will soon be required at University sign-in for all current students, faculty, staff, POI, and sponsored accounts. This requirement will go into effect starting November 1, 2018, but won’t require action until the time of your annual password reset. For example, if your next password reset is in March 2018, you will not be required to enroll in Duo until then.

At the time of your password reset, you will either enroll in Duo if you haven’t already or set your current Duo enrollment to be required for all University logins, and set a 16+ character password (but it can be simple, without special symbols). Once you are enrolled in Duo and have set a 16+ character password, annual password resets will no longer be required.

OIT recently added the feature to allow Duo to “Remember me for 7 days”, which will help minimize the number of times you need to authenticate with Duo.
