The Dream Fund

The Immigration Response Team is currently accepting applications for The Dream Fund, which was created to provide emergency grants to University of Minnesota students who are enrolled in a degree-seeking program and:

• Are authorized under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program;
• Had Temporary Protected Status that was terminated;
• Are undocumented;
• Face a gap in immigration status that affects their work authorization.

This donor-supported fund is meant to ensure that unexpected emergencies and recent immigration changes will not derail students’ academic dreams. Eligible students may apply for a grant to help with educational expenses, unexpected medical or dental bills, housing needs, food insecurity, or other extenuating circumstances like DACA renewal fees. International students generally do not qualify.
