Mental Wellness in the Workplace: For the podcast people

Do you listen to podcasts? Last week a new local podcast launched, Depresh Mode. Clever, no? There are a few local mental health/wellness podcasts, even one with a University connection!
  • Depresh Mode is a new podcast by John Moe. It seems to follow in the footsteps of Moe’s previous podcast, The Hilarious World of Depression, which was cancelled early in the covid pandemic due to funding issues. It is wonderful and worth a listen.
  • The Mind Deconstructed is a podcast hosted by Dr. Kaz Nelson, a psychiatrist at the University of Minnesota, and her brother George, where they serve as translators between the psychiatric field and the non-medical community. Have you ever been at a table with an expert and someone who is good at asking questions? George and Dr. Kaz Nelson have great conversations about mental illness, and we get to listen. It’s accessible, entertaining, and educational.
  • The Daily Refresh is a podcast where in three minutes the hosts share a quote to inspire the mind, gratitude to warm the soul, and guided breathing to energize the body 7-days a week! (Protip: To get good, full breaths, drop your listening speed down to normal speed for this one if you usually listen at 1.5 speed or faster!)
